Steve has been on the cutting edge of Internet media and communications techniques and technologies since 1994, producing some of the earliest multi-media CD-ROM gaming titles in the industry, as an audio producer with Mammoth Microproductions in Golden Colorado. “The Pagemaster” CD-ROM game was the first CD-ROM game title based on a movie to be released the same day as the movie, allowing Steve the opportunity to work with the Academy-Award winning sound design company, Soundelux, (who were authoring the sound for the movie). This situation caused logistical issues which Steve solved by designing an interactive audio scene authoring system that was used by both Soundelux in Hollywood and local studios in Golden, CO.
Steve then turned his attention away from gaming and to the use of interactive media for informational and educational purposes – training, marketing communications and executive communications. He has pursued that thread since then, designing and producing interactive projects for diverse corporate and non-profit clients, including KPMG, Lehman Brothers, The Chamber Music Society of LIncoln Center, The Walter Reade Theater, Maryknoll, Horizonlive Live Distance Learning
Steve’s recent work includes a seven-year relationship with Jazz at Lincoln Center, where he developed an early interactive online video program for the education department there, producing and publishing indexed lectures, concerts, workshops, and master classes. He also shot and edited hundreds of hours of educational video at Jazz at Lincoln Center during his seven-year association with them.
Before his move to interactive media, Steve had a background in traditional media, as a musician and composer and as the audio producer for Most Productions in Boulder, Colo. Steve also created and ran a small ad agency in Boulder, producing radio, TV, and print ads for local businesses. That experience led to a 10-year journey as an advertising/marketing copywriter.
Steve’s newest venture – Major Minor Media – is a synthesis of all the previous experiences, bringing media technology, technique, and marketing ideas, using social media as a lever to both produce and promote media.
